The Komische Oper Berlin has announced its 2025-2026 season, which will take place across multiple venues due to the renovation of its main building. Notable premieres include Salome by Richard Strauss (November 2025), Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk by Shostakovich (January 2026), and Belshazzar by Händel (March 2026). Revivals of La Cage aux Folles and La Traviata are also scheduled.
Additionally, special concerts such as The Thousand in Tempelhof in September 2025 and Spring! in May 2026 will be featured. The Schall & Rausch festival, dedicated to contemporary musical theater, will take place in February 2026. Despite budget cuts in Berlin’s cultural sector, renovations of the Komische Oper remain on track, ensuring the continuation of its artistic programming.
