Wiener Staatsoper has announced its 2025-2026 season, which will feature an impressive lineup of international stars. Among the most notable names are Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Diana Damrau, Michael Volle, Ludovic Tézier, Pretty Yende, Rolando Villazón, Federica Lombardi, Nicole Car, Freddie De Tommaso, and Juan Diego Flórez. The program includes new productions of operas such as Smetana’s “The Bartered Bride,” Beethoven’s “Fidelio,” Verdi’s “Luisa Miller,” Mozart’s “La clemenza di Tito,” and Bizet’s “Les Pêcheurs de perle.” These works will be conducted by renowned maestros like Tomáš Hanus, Franz Welser-Möst, Michele Mariotti, Pablo Heras-Casado, and Daniele Rustioni, with acclaimed singers in the lead roles.
In addition to the new productions, the season will include revivals of iconic operas such as Bizet’s “Carmen,” Mozart’s “Così fan tutte,” Wagner’s “Das Rheingold,” and Strauss’s “Der Rosenkavalier.” These performances will also feature top-tier artists and will be conducted by masters including Yves Abel, Adam Fischer, Pablo Heras-Casado, and Alexander Soddy.
