Potere e Politica are the threads that weave together a programme that spans centuries and musical genres, evoking themes dear to the maestro, themes that are at the forefront of cultural and social debate.
The Festival will open with the Verdi Street Parade: a great musical festival will take to the streets and squares, starting from the Teatro Regio, along a route full of surprises.
The programme
Macbeth, in the French version, La battaglia di Legnano, Un ballo in maschera, in new productions directed by Pierre Audi, Daniele Menghini and Valentina Carrasco, conducted by Roberto Abbado, Fabio Biondi, Diego Ceretta and Attila, in concert version conducted by Roberto Frizza, as well as the Messa da Requiem and the Verdi Gala, conducted by Francesco Lanzillotta and James Conlon.
Among the performers are Riccardo Fassi, Lidia Fridman, Luciano Ganci, Mika Kares, Giorgi Manoshvili, Roberta Mantegna, Francesco Meli, George Petean, Michele Pertusi, Ernesto Petti, Marina Rebeka, Giovanni Sala, Luca Salsi, Fabio Sartori, Vladimir Stoyanov, Marta Torbidoni, Szilvia Vörös, together with young talents from the Accademia Verdiana under the direction of Francesco Izzo.
Ramificazioni
Ramificazioni opens routes to the music of Luigi Nono, Arnold Schönberg, Dmítrij Šostakóvič, Claudio Monteverdi, with Maurizio Pollini, Teodor Currentzis, Maxime Pascal, Shirin Neshat.
Collaborations
The collaboration with La Toscanini, with the choir of the Teatro Regio di Parma prepared by Martino Faggiani and with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna is renewed and strengthened, and the scientific collaboration with the Istituto Nazionale di Studi Verdiani is intensified.
The competition
Verdi Off reaches its 9th edition and, with the International Friends of Verdi Festival, promotes the Verdi Extreme Competition for artists under 35.
