Georgian mezzo-soprano Ekaterine Buachidze studied at the Vano Sarajishvili State Conservatoire in Tbilisi before joining the Fabbrica Young Artist Program at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.
During her time in Rome, she performed Flora (La traviata), La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Armelinde (Cendrillon), and the Shepherd Girl (Jenufa), and won the Tebaldi-Corelli-Gigli Competition in Pesaro. After completing the program in Rome, she made a last-minute jump-in as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Arena di Verona.
She later joined the Bayerische Staatsoper Opera Studio, where she performed the Sandman (Hänsel und Gretel), Lola (Cavalleria rusticana), the Kitchen Boy (Rusalka), Annina (La traviata), and Glaša (Kát’a Kabanová). She is a scholarship holder of the Hildegard Zadek Foundation.
Ekaterine debuted at Les Arts Valencia as Siebel in Faust and appeared in recital at the Peralada Opera Festival. She is the winner of First Prize at Operalia, the Pepita Embil Prize for Zarzuela, and the Rolex Audience Prize.
