Janetka Emilia Hoșco is a talented mezzo-soprano, renowned for the emotional depth of her performances and her refined vocal technique. Born in Aleșd, Bihor, she discovered her passion for music at an early age and pursued her studies at the Art High School in Oradea. Throughout her formative years, she excelled in numerous national and international music competitions, earning prestigious awards. Her dedication and talent led her to the Gheorghe Dima National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, where she refined her skills under the guidance of baritone Florin Estefan. She obtained both her bachelor's and master's degrees, receiving recognition for her artistic excellence through numerous awards, including First Prize at the Eduard CaudellaNational Interpretation Competition and a Special Prize at the Ionel Perlea International Competition. Her professional career quickly took shape, with remarkable debuts on some of Romania’s most prestigious stages. She has performed notable roles such as Olga in Eugene Onegin (P.I. Tchaikovsky), Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana (Pietro Mascagni), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (W.A. Mozart), and Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro (W.A. Mozart), collaborating with renowned conductors such as David Crescenzi, Vladimir Lungu, and Adrian Morar. Her repertoire also includes roles like Fenena in Nabucco and Maddalena in Rigoletto (Giuseppe Verdi), showcasing her remarkable artistic versatility. Currently, Janetka Emilia Hoșco is a scholar at the prestigious Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence, Italy, where she continues to refine her artistry under the guidance of internationally acclaimed masters such as Eugenio Gianni Tangucci, Vincenzo Spatola, and Giulio Zappa. She has also had the opportunity to collaborate with distinguished conductors including Renato Palumbo, Carlo Goldstein, Riccardo Frizza, and Stefano Ranzani, as well as esteemed directors such as Stefania Grazioli, Cecilia Ligorio, and Francesco Micheli. Her most recent project is the role of Giovanna in Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi at Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence. In parallel, she is involved in an innovative project, Opera Amore, a contemporary opera created in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, with music composed by Federico Gon, a libretto by Alberto Mattioli, and stage direction by Francesco Micheli.
