The young Armenian soprano Lilit Davtyan is the Charming Beginnings protagonist of this issue & one of the most promising talents of her generation. We were thrilled to discover Lilit at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she is a scholarship holder of the Förderkreis this season. At only 24 years old, Lilit’s repertoire includes roles as Norina in Don Pasquale and Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice and Adele in Die Fledermaus and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, just to name of few of those that she performed at the Young Artists Programme of the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. In a conversation with Alice Lechner, Lilit talks about her musical journey, her experience at the Bolshoi Theatre’s Young Artist Programme, her decision to continue her studies in Berlin, and her dreams regarding repertoire & her passions beyond music.
