Rising star Victoria Karkacheva in the winner of the First Prize and Birgit Nilsson Prize at Operalia 2021. Recent highlights include her house and role debut as Judith in a new production of Bluebeard’s Castle at the Opéra de Lyon which was recorded and broadcast by Medici TV. Next season, Victoria will make her debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in performances of Iolanta with Kirill Petrenko in Berlin and Baden-Baden, and her house debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper as Emilia in Otello.From Volgograd, Victoria is an alumna of the prestigious Young Artist Programme at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia where she appeared as Aglaya in a new production of Weinberg’s The Idiot and third wood sprite in new production of Rusalka with Ainars Rubikis. Victoria has toured extensively with the Bolshoi, with performances at the Kennedy Center in Washington and across France. As a member of the Verbier Festival Academy, Victoria sung Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte conducted by Stanislav Kochanovsky, and Stimme von oben in Die Frau ohne Schatten with Valery Gergiev.
